Filmmaker

Gita Hudson has been making short documentaries since 2005; she regards film-making as an extension of fine arts, which is also their subject matter.

Over the past 18 years, she has documented contemporary artists and painters of the 'Madras Art Movement,' as well as various folk forms across India through her travels and curation at DakshinaChitra Heritage Museum.

Her films have been screened at prestigious venues such as the Gandhi Centre in Washington DC, DIAF in Delhi, Nehru Centre and Noble Sage Gallery in London, the British Council, Alliance Françoise in Chennai, Bharath Bhavan in Bhopal, Bharat Nivas in Auroville, JDCA in Orissa, Lalit Kala Akademi in Delhi, Auroville, and fine arts colleges throughout India, as well as at film festivals around the world.
